Course Duration: Two Months Training from 13th February to 7th April 2023

1. Training background.
This report presents an account of the PBS Students training conducted on shepherd God
people and evangelism. The training was conducted in greater Mundri and Maridi counties
Western Equatoria State/Yambio. This trained conducted organized by Favour Africa Ministries
International (FAMI). The training was planned for 200 students per class and target church
leaders. The students who attended the courses for two months were 229, males 85 and 144
females and because of the inclusivity the students/participants are identified and selected
from the different church denominations in greater Mundri and Maridi namely; SPC, ECSS,
Catholic, Presbyterian and AIC churches. This training started on 13th February 2023 and end on
7th April 2023. The Training locations as mentioned Osoho, Meyewe, Gulu, Kotobi, Mandi,
Mvolo, Kazan and Chrisco church. The training was conducted by the filed teachers whom are
trained and identified among many teach others. Under the supervision of the field
coordinator in the area.
2. Security situation during two-months activity.
However, the security situation during the training in the area was operational which
contributed positively for PBS activity to running successfully for the duration of these two
months, therefore, because of good security in the are the students are able to conducted door
to door evangelism which also resulted to 510 souls won to Christ there were 184 males and
326 females and students traveled far distance to training location no threat been report.

3. Purpose of the workshop


 To equip the students with knowledge and skills on evangelism, leadership and become
train of trainees
4. Specific Objectives of the workshop
Training Objectives: By the end of this training, the participants should be able:
 To know the risen, indwelling Lord Jesus more deeply and personally through this
teaching of Favor Africa ministries International (FAMI)
 To Develop the personal disciplines of studying, understanding and communicating the
message of the Bible.
 To discover and prove in everyday experience the reality of the Christian life.
 To be a more effective member of your local church and be equipped for full time
Christian service

5. Training outcomes
229 students were trained and successful completed two months’ courses. There were 85
males and 144 females. This training started on 13/2/2023 to 07/4/2023 at greater Mundri and
Maridi center as mentioned, Osoho, Meyewe, Gulu, Kotobi, Mandi, Mvolo, Kazan and Chrisco
church. The training was conducted using FAMI Manuel and the content was spread through
the entire two months of the training and the trainers was from local community whom were
trained and identified and select by the FAMI filed teachers.
During the two months training, various training methodologies were used, like group work
discussions and presentations, questions and answers, and lecture methods. participants

shared experiences. The students understood FAMI concept and developed a vision, the
students acquired clear understanding on the Biblical mandate for evangelism ministry, and
leaderships and the students gain confident in teaching and made their commitment to engage
in training local church members through the Manuel.
The training covered topics; Bible Surveys, Biblical Doctrines, Homiletics, Shepherding the flock,
Holy living, Denominational relationships, Introduction to Basic Counseling Skills, Emotional
Strengths in Counseling, Building Truth, dealing with Bad Thoughts, Establishing Goals,
Exploring Stress & Trauma, overcoming trauma, forgiveness, History of Forgiveness, why is it
Important to forgive and being Set Free.
After the training, capable students were identified and selected by their trainers to go and
start training the church members on what their acquired during the two months. The
identified and select students were able to develop their individual work plans on how they
shall work in facilitating the church through the training their acquired and work as team with
their colleagues. This training conducted has made, students to, identify their own strengths
and develops areas for growth, demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing
new skills in the process, demonstrate how to initiate and plan a bible training experience,
show commitment to and perseverance in Bible study and recognize and consider the ethics of
choices and actions
6. Lesion learned during the training conducted.
1. Commitment of church leaders encouraged student participation so much
2. Common dead rate and funeral in the area affects mobilization and dropped out of some
student
3. Some of the Manuel term-knowledge are so difficult to some of field teachers

7. Challenges encountered during the training?


 Lack of enough PBS booklets
 Distance travel to training center by the students
 Time frame is very short to complete the Manuel because of the slow leaners
 Lack of transport for field coordinator to supervise and monitor all the locations
 Delayed of incentive affected field teachers who are out of their homes
 99% of our field teachers did not having smart phone which made difficult to report in
time
8. Suggested possible way forward and recommendations for improvement in the next
activities.

1. Provision Local Bible to Participants after each period training
2. Requesting for more training materials more special the training Manuel
3. Provision of motorcycle to field coordinators to make supervision easy
4. Provide additional centers to greater Mundri and Maridi
5. Let the management support in translating training Manuel into local language for easy
understanding of our local congregation.
6. Provision of smart phones to some of the field teachers who doesn’t have for reporting and
documentation purpose.
