Document Development Exposition: Instructions

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
In the planning phase, I completed the prep document provided in class. I was able to use the
website Canva to create my instructions. It was challenging to create something so edited down
when created a rather involved task. I was able to simplify it and fit it all into eight steps that made
sense and were easy to follow.

First Draft (for peer editing)

The first draft was created but had some issues. It was able to be followed, but the users got caught
up at the fourth step. The outcome was that by adding a statement to read the instructions prior to
starting the task, it would be easy to complete each step.

Second Draft (for your packet)

I submitted the same draft with minor changes made.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

I changed the steps from eight to seven with an overview. Some of the wording was confusing, so I
reworked the sentences to fit better. I changed the alignment to not have one or two words hanging
at the bottom of each step.
