WORKING METHOD AND SEQUENCE

General:
 This method only covers the circuit- breakers installation.
 The assembly of a gas-insulated substation is always implemented by successive steps starting
from installation of all circuit breakers of the entire bay, and followed by the installation of current
transformers, disconnector switch, voltage transformer, busbar disconnector assemblies, busbar,
surge arrester or air bushing from the 1st bay up to the last one.

7.1 INSPECTION OF CIVIL WORKS

 The reference level of the GIS is located at the surface of the foundation, this is the reference level
for vertical Z-axis, refer to drawing 500kV GIS Cibatu Baru 2 / Sukatani and Cilamaya Substation
Layout and Section GIS - JAW/00/D/A-----EP60/EA/202 & JAW/00/D/A-----EN/CG/702.
 Before any works of erection in the gas-insulated substation, check the position of distances
between centers for any change of direction of connecting enclosures on feeder side and marking
to the ground of structures position. Please refer to civil works guide.
 Before erection of a gas-insulated substation, the inspections to be performed on site are the
following:
o Check the presence of reference pins
- This GIS reference pin has to be indicated (0, 01, 02, …) and sized on Civil Work Drawing -
JAW/00/D/A-----EP60/CG/204 for Cibatu and JAW/00/D/A-----EN/CG/704 for Cilamaya in
page 3.
- GIS reference pin is used to define the main X & Y GIS horizontal axis.
o Check the layout of anchoring devices in relation with the axes system Ox-Oy-Oz
o Complete and sign the minutes of the closing inventory in appendix of SITE CONDITIONS PRIOR
TO START SITE ACTIVITY DOCUMENT leaflet FAQ011 which will be available at the work site during
inspection.

General tolerance value is referring to CIVIL WORK GUIDE DRAWING on section LOAD &
FOUNDATION DETAILS - JAW/00/D/A-----EP60/CG/204 for Cibatu and JAW/00/D/A-----EN/CG/704
for Cilamaya in page 1 .
a) Unless specified, all dimensions are in millimeters.
b) The difference between the actual level and the theoretical level of the outdoor foundation must
not exceed +/- 20mm

7.3 IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WORKS

Installation and preparation
 Mark out work zone with warning signs or hard barricade.
 To reduce handling operations, bring the crates containing metal clad components closer
to the working area.
 The working area shall be entirely marked out in relation with the reference axes of each
central pole of circuit-breaker.
 Make the marking of axes and reference marks in the ground

Conditions of starting
 The conditions required for the implementation and realization of the site works shall
conform with to SITE CONDITIONS PRIOR TO START SITE ACTIVITY document leaflet
FAQ 011 which will be available at the work site during inspection
 A certain number of dangerous works are prohibited to isolated workers and require
the presence of a supervisor:
o Site works or work in height with:
 Use of belt or safety shoulder belt
 Maneuvering of vehicles, apparatuses and site works equipment
 Maneuvering of lifting equipment
 Works which require the use of a hoist.

7.4 INSTALLATION OF CIRCUIT-BREAKERS

Installation of the first pole circuit-breaker
Installation of the pole
 To have a complete definition of the gas-insulated substation we need refer to the
layout and section drawing JAW/00/D/A-----EP60/GA/003 for Cibatu and JAW/00/D/A-
------EN/EA/702 for Cilamaya.
 Position the first three-pole circuit-breaker taking care to verify the alignment with the
marking to the ground according to the civil work guide drawing JAW/00/D/A-----
EP60/CG/204 for Cibatu and JAW/00/D/A-----EN/CG/704 for Cilamaya in page 3 and 4.
Document will be provided at the work site during work execution and inspection.

Marking of axes and reference marks in the ground

Before carrying out the installation, clean-up the ground and the marking in relation with the
reference axes:
 The axis Y1, Y2, Y3 of each central pole of circuit-breaker located at a distance OX1, OX2,
OX3, etc.… of the reference pin O.
 The axes Y’1 and Y ‘’1, Y’2 and Y ‘’2, Y’3 and Y ‘’3 of lateral poles of circuit-breaker located
at distances –E and +E of axes Y1, Y2, Y3, etc.
 The axis X’ of drawing of flanges of circuit-breaker poles, located at a distance OY1 of the
reference pin.

Unpacking
 Move CB packing unit from storage area to near installation location
 They must also comply with all handling rules indicated in:
-- Box labels (pictograms: center of gravity, sling handles, stacking rules, etc.).
-- Equipment assembly instructions.
 Unpack the equipment on the place of installation, on a firm and level base.
 To open the boxes, use a nail-remover.
 Remove the plastic film from the units.
 Ensure N2 positive pressure inside circuit breaker compartment via filling port.
 Take off and dispose of the fixing plates and bolts as these will not be needed.
 Handling and lifting of the equipment are carried out by means of mobile crane with
minimum capacity of 5 tons SWL with appropriate lifting plan with consideration of the
weight load to be lift, working range and safe working load. Lifting plan will be provided as
attachment to PTW application.
 Use 2 round sling or protected steel cables with hooks at each end with 3 tons SWL or
above.

Installing

1 Remove the reinforcements (1) of the metallic structure.

2 It is not required to open CB compartment, keep it closed with contain of nitrogen (N2)
positive pressure.
2 Install the elements (2) and (3) of the metallic structure on the circuit-breaker
