"Risk and Realities: Pre-Marital Sex and Early Pregnancy Awareness Campaign"

On March 31, 2023, a seminar for second-year college students titled "Risk and Realities:

Pre-Marital Sex and Early Pregnancy Awareness Campaign" was held at the EUC Gymnasium.

The seminar's goal was to teach students about the cause and effects of premarital sex, as well as

the importance of responsible sexual activity.

Premarital sex is a sexual relationship that takes place before a couple marries. Many

cultures and religions consider it unacceptable, and it can have health, psychological, cultural,

and religious effects. Premarital sex can result in unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted

diseases (STIs), both of which can have severe physical, emotional, and financial implications.

One of the most important concerns confronting today's Filipino youth is early

pregnancy. Early pregnancy may have negative health consequences and be harmful to the

country's economic development. Pregnant teenagers are less likely to complete higher education

and have a lower lifetime earning potential, resulting in economic costs to the government.

Having enough knowledge about the pros and cons of pre-marital sex and early

pregnancy may prevent the students somehow to think twice before they do such impulsive

decisions. It will lessen the burden on their families, religions, and the country. Having a big

responsibility at an early age is a big deal. Having a child is a lifetime responsibility that you

have to be emotionally, financially, and physically ready for the circumstances that you have to

face. This kind of seminar is very important to make the students aware that having a child is no

joke.
