RESOLUTION NO 4, s. 2022-2023
MATERIALS RECOVERY FACILITY (MRF)

WHEREAS, Base on Article VII; Powers, Duties, and Responsibilities of the SPG/SSG Section 2.4 and
Section 2.5 of the SSG Constitution, that the SPG/SSG shall formulate and recommend programs that
address relevant issues and concerns of the students, and that the SPG/SSG shall plan, implement, and
enforce policies designed to protect and promote the students' rights and welfare;

WHEREAS, Zamboanga Sibugay National High School does not possess the appropriate materials and
facilities to hold and contain the school's waste and garbage resulting to improper waste disposal and
segregation;
WHEREAS, most of the students litter around the campus since they have nowhere to dispose their
trash, and classrooms in their corresponding curriculums dump and burn their garbage outside of
their respective buildings, specifically the Grade 7 and 8 curriculums;
WHEREAS, the official Supreme Student Government of S.Y. 2022-2023 will request the
implementation and establishment of Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) within the campus for it will
play big part in the segregation of waste and garbage;
WHEREAS, the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) will sort out mixed materials and will ensure the
recovery of recyclable materials acquired from solid waste;
WHEREAS, the importance of proper waste disposal will be instilled among the students’
understanding with the enactment of Materials Recovery Facility (MRF);
WHEREAS, garbage collection administered by the Barangay officials of the locality will be carried out
every month;
NOW THEREFORE, on motion of the SSG Vice-President, David John C. Garcia II and duly seconded by
SSG Secretary, Lorraine Queenie Joy A. Escala and unanimously approved by the members present, be
it;
RESOLVED, the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) will avert improper waste disposal and segregation
and will contribute to the betterment of the school and the welfare of the learners.
RESOLVED FURTHER, the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) will be established along with the
approval of the School Principal and the School Governance Committee (SGC) in coordination with the
Barangay officials of the locality.
