Electrical system MULTIPLEX

Multiplex The same electrical / electronic system successfully introduced in all Stralis on-
Architecture road vehicles now is also used in the Trakker AD and AT range, giving the same
Results characteristics and enhanced possibilities of information, interactivity, diagnosis
to the entire heavy on and off-road range.
Example

 Connection of all ECUs, switches and interfaces by single CAN-bus-systems

 The different CAN-systems are structured depending on their specific tasks
or functions
 Managing the driver's communication interface, the "Instrument cluster"
 Modular structure for high flexibility for future expansion
 Maximum reliability
 Easy failure diagnosis possibilities

Electrical system Multiplex system is reducing:

Multiplex  Number of relays by 50 %
Architecture
 Number of fuses by 40 %
Results
 Cables by 45 %
Example

At the same time the functionality could be remarkably increased, e.g. integration
of radio actuation, driver's information, diagnosis ...

 Overall comfort
 High reliability
 Operational safety

The single ECUs of each group (example: vehicle/driveline functions) are

connected by a two-conductor CAN line
(CAN = controller area network).
Each ECU is permanently sending and receiving data = messages to and from this
"data-bus". The sequence is depending on the priority, controlled by arbitration
rules, e.g. safety oriented.
All CAN-structures are connected to the "Body Computer" and the "Instrument
Cluster" (central display) working as a communication centre for the driver.
