Being oriented on protocols for classes in the learning modality employed by the school.

Observe/ assist your cooperating teacher, List down some routines that he/she has done for classes in
the learning modality employed by your cooperating school to make sure that the class is managed well.

The class always begins with
greetings.
When there is an activity teacher
always tell her students the
amount of time they should have
for each activity.
Give assignments to the students
and when it is time to go home,
she will ask who is the cleaners
and tell them to start cleaning up.
The teacher should ask questions
to the students like “How was
your day?” or like “Did you get
enough sleep last night?” so that
students can at least loosen up a
bit.
The teacher always made sure
that she maximizes her allotted
time and by that the students can
accomplished a lot of activities in
just a day.

students to recall the discussion

Read the different situations below and suggest a positive and non-violent way to address the student’s
behavior.

Case No. 1

Jacob is a new student in your school. He does not
seem to fit well with the other kids who have
already established friendships with other kids. This
results in Jacob being aloof and withdrawn. He does
not participate in class discussions and seems
uncomfortable during group activities. You know he
is smart because his written works are almost
always done perfectly. How will you help Jacob?
Case No. 2
I will start step by step. So, first step, for example,
today, I will ask them to have pairings and share
something to each other so they can interact with
other’ student. Then next day they have to have
new pair to share with their experiences in life.
Through this activity they can interact with Jacob
and this can help Jacob to be comfortable with his
classmates.

Mia is a smart student, but is very talkative. She is
always talking out of turn and this results in
disruptions during class. She usually tells her
seatmates stories which are irrelevant from the
topic being discussed. How will you help Mia?
I will use her talkativeness to our discussion, I will
always call her to share her ideas to every
discussions’ since she is smart it will not be difficult
for her. And I will ask her to encourage her
classmates to take their study seriously. But before
that I will ask her privately to minimize her
talkativeness in our class instead help me and her
classmates to have a fun and knowledgeable
discussions.

Complete the statement

Having effective class routines and sound class structure is important because class routine
consistency helps to create a productive classroom management strategy, improve behavior
management, lessen distractions in the classroom, and increase focus and engagement. It makes it
simpler to fill in the blanks when used as a lesson plan outline.
