By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
LEARNING 1. write letters and words in a straight line from left to right with regular spaces between

2. Identify and recognise the shapes of the letters in the alphabet correctly.
TP 1- TP 2 : Pupils can write their names correctly in a name card. They can look at the friends’
SUCCESS name and read their name correctly.
CRITERIA(S) TP 3 - TP 4 : Pupils can write their names correctly in a name card with some guidance. They
can look at the friends’ name and read their name correctly.

ACTIVITY: play roles
1. Pre-lesson: Pupils refresh back the colour words by using the sound cards.
2. Pupils sing the alphabet song as in previous lesson.
3. Pupils answer the questions “What’s your name?” and ask others whats their names are.
4. Pupils try to spell their name. They are given a card and pupils have to write their name on
ACTIVITIES the card to complete the sentences (I’m ______)
5. When they have completed their task, they pass up the name cards and mix them up. Then,
they are given different name cards.
6. Pupils one by one read the name on the cards and try to find the pupils whose card it is.
7. Post-lesson: Pupils stick their name cards on their desk.
