ARTS APPRECIATION

I. Objectives:
At the end of the sixty-minute period, the students should be able to:
a. identify the different classification of arts;
b. tell the importance for each classification of art; and
c. create an own artwork/performances based on the chosen classification of arts.

of Arts and kindly read the objectives, this are the things we
need to achieve during this session.

B. Lesson Proper

Before starting the activity let’s have a brief explanation about


Classification of Arts.

The various classification of art includes fine art, visual art,


plastic art, performance art, applied art decorative art and
literary art.
Yes Ma’am.
We often see this arts every day, everywhere and do you agree
that everything we have now is an art?

Now let’s engage in another activity. You will be divided into 3


groups (depending on the number of students). The groupings
will be through counting 1 to 3.

Once they with their group and settled, the teacher will give the
instructions.

The teacher will give fact sheets first and let the students each
group to familiarize the content within 2 minutes then after that
the teacher will collect the fact sheets and then give the activity.

Activity 2: A
Identify what classification of arts are being stated in each
number, choose the answer from the box. This activity is given
7 minutes and later on 1 representative in each group will be
called to present their output.

and emotion through visual means. The visual arts include all
the fine arts in addition to the following: new media,
photography, environmental art and contemporary dance.

skills and thinking of new things. To note that the word does not
indicate the quality of the artwork but rather the discipline. This
includes drawing, painting and printmaking.

Activity 3:

will be instructed to do the activity within 10 minutes.

Direction: Create an artwork/performances based on your


chosen classification of arts, also it is needed to be explained
the meaning behind your artwork and the importance of that
classification. It is not allowed that 2 group having same
classification that’s why it is needed to pick your classification in
front.

1.) Art serves as emotional expression, inspiration and motivation, relaxation and stress relief, cultural
appreciation also for commination and storytelling and aesthetic enhancement.

2.) We can appreciate in the most normal things we do every day like observation and contemplation
like taking time observing and engage with art pieces. Also through learning about history and context,
visiting galleries, museums and exhibitions. Engaging in dialogues and discussions, creating and
participating in art and supporting artists and the arts community.
