ELICIT

Let's evaluate your understanding of the

previous lesson before moving on to the Activity 1: Charades activity
next one. Direction:

1. Divide the class into groups of 5-6 students.

2. Ask each group to brainstorm keywords or
phrases related to the proper usage of tools,
equipment, and paraphernalia.
3. Each group will write their chosen keywords on
slips of paper and then fold them up and place
them in a jar.
4. One student from each group will take turns
picking out a slip of paper from the jar and then
act out the keyword or phrase. The other students
in their group have to guess the keyword or
phrase correctly.

1
5. Once the group has guessed correctly, the
acting student can pick out another slip of paper
from the jar and continue the game until all slips
of paper have been used up.
6. Once all groups have finished their turns, the
teacher can lead a discussion to reinforce the
proper usage of tools, equipment, and
paraphernalia that were acted out.

For the time being, let us develop

greater proficiency in the proper
utilization and maintenance of the
various tools, equipment, and
paraphernalia employed in FOS.

Activity 3 - World Café Exercise:

Arrange five café stations in separate

areas of the room. Divide the students
into five groups and direct them to rotate
to each café station for research
purposes. Instruct the students to bring a
notebook and pen for note taking. Group
1 will begin at Café 1, Group 2 at Café 2,
Group 3 at Café 3, Group 4 at Café 4,
and Group 5 at Café 5. Allocate one
minute for each group to conduct
research at each café before moving onto
the next one. It is important to remind
students to move when instructed to do
so.

IV- GENERALIZATION

1. How do you calculate the

occupancy percentage for a hotel
using the average daily rate and the
number of rooms sold?

2. How do you calculate the revenue

per available room (RevPAR) for a
hotel, and why is this metric
important for measuring
performance?

IV. EVALUATION

Student: Yes, I understood the class and gained

new knowledge about mensuration in Front Office
Services.

V. ASSIGNEMENT

Scenario:
You work as a receptionist at a hotel that has
various room categories and a variety of pricing
options that vary throughout the year. A guest
wants to book a room for three nights, and his
preferred room category is Deluxe, which has a
nightly rate of P250.00. However, you can offer
him a 20% discount off the nightly rate if he
agrees to prepay for his stay. In addition, you
need to add a 13% sales tax to his final rate.

Students: The final rate for the guest's three-

night stay in a Deluxe room would be calculated
as follows:

Nightly rate for Deluxe room = P250.00

Discounted rate = 20% * P250.00 = P50.00

(Discounted rate per night = P250.00 - P50.00 =
P200.00)

Total discounted rate for three nights = 3 *

P200.00 = P600.00

Sales tax = 13% of the discounted rate = 13% *

P600.00 = P78.00

Final rate for the guest's three-night stay in a

Deluxe room, including the 20% discount and
13% sales tax, would be P678.00.

Therefore, the guest's final rate for a three-night

stay in a Deluxe room, including the discount and
sales tax, would be P678.00.
