1. PURPOSE

This method statement describes the procedure proposed to be adopted for filling/
repairing of Tie Rod holes filling works for all concrete structures and underground
coordination works.

2. SCOPE

This method statement is applicable to all the concrete structures for buildings, foundations
and underground coordination works to be done in Shah Gas Development Plant Units
U726, U727, U740, U742 and general area 0230.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES

 It is the overall responsibility of CM reporting to SM to organize resources to

perform construction activities as per project specification, in compliance with
quality, schedule & safety requirements.

 It is the responsibility of CE reporting to CM that construction activities are

executed according to the relevant project specifications and drawings in
compliance with quality, schedule & safety requirements.

 Special care shall be taken in designing the mix ratio for the repairing works.
The Civil QA&QC shall ensure the implementation of approved mix ratio design.

 QA&QC-Civil shall ensure that repairing activities of concrete are conducted
according to this method statement and shall ensure that work is executed
according to ITP and that requirements of quality dossier are fulfilled.

 Area supervisor shall ensure that upon completion of each activity, area has
been cleaned of waste materials & left tidy for the next activity. At the end of all
activities easement area will be left graded.

 Safety and Construction supervision will be done by Subcontractor under responsibility

of Company.

6. PROCEDURES

6.1 MATERIAL

Tie holes shall be filled with approved waterproofing repair material that should be
submitted to Company for approval prior to start the job

6.2 EXECUTION

Any work related to this job shall be conducted according to the specification for
concrete works (DGS-1783-002) under sections 22.5, 22.6, 22.8 and QCP (MP02-0230-
92-SPE-0D9612).

The following methodology shall be adopted:

 Ensure that PVC cones are removed and substrate is rough enough.

 Ensure that the tie rod hole area shall be thoroughly cleaned and free from
sand dust, shavings dust or other debris by air jetting before repairing.

 Ensure that substrate must be free from oil, grease or any adhering material. If
surface have laitance, it must be cut back to sound base

 Soak concrete substrate for a minimum of two hours continuously prior to fill
approved materials in the tie rod holes. Immediately prior to filling, all free water
should be removed leaving the substrate in a surface dry condition

 Tie rod hole filling/repair will start only after the final QC inspection and
approval.

 Apply the bonding agent at substrate prior to filling.

 The approved filling material and mix design shall be used.

 Ensure to fulfill the requirement of specification for quality control.

 The filling material shall be mixed manually.

 The filled/repaired surfaces must be cured as per specifications ( DGS-1783-002

and MP02-0230-17-ADD-083002.

8.2 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

 All personnel involved will use necessary PPE as required such as safety helmet,

through daily tool box and safety talk.

 All required work permits shall be acquired and the necessary copy kept available
at respective work site.

 Safety notice board shall be installed.
