MINUTES OF THE MEETING


on the
Educational Philosophies for the 21st Century Classrooms:
Understanding and Addressing the needs of students in the classroom

held in the Computer Hub at 9:00 A. M. - 10:30 A. M. last May 12, 2023.

Communication for teachers’ meeting was given to the LAC members a day before
the scheduled meeting. The meeting commenced at exactly 9:00 A.M. to accommodate
everyone, with consent from the active, dynamic, and supportive department head of TLE, in
the person of Madame Janet V. Mohammad, Head Teacher VI.
The LAC leader Mrs. Marites G. Abejero exerted effort to reach the teachers through
phone calls, Group Chat in messenger, and encouraged them to be on time for the scheduled
meeting to discuss important agenda for the welfare of every teacher in the LAC group. The
result turned out great with 100% attendance. Please see attached file for attendance.
The LAC leader did the customary greetings and prayer led by Mr. Paul Alejandrino.

The LAC leader reminded the group the importance of equipping learners in identifying
their characteristics of learners with special needs and talents
Considering learner’s multiple intelligences. She also emphasized about the theory
of Jean Piaget (1896-1980) is considered the father of the constructivist view of learning.
Constructivism learning theory is based on the idea that students actually create their own
learning based on their previous experiences. Students take what they're being taught and add
it to their previous knowledge and experiences, creating a reality that's unique to them.
Constructivist classrooms focus on student questions and interests, they build on what
students already know, they focus on interactive learning and are student-centered, teachers
have a dialogue with students to help them construct their own knowledge, they root in
negotiation, and students work primarily in groups.
She also gave emphases to be ready with the updated Lesson Plans all the time. She
recapitulated that the 5 parts should be clearly stated, and explicit teaching approach must be
incorporated in the lesson plan, in addition, she also discussed the 6 indicators for classroom
observation and reminded everyone to write the indicators for the scheduled CO1.

The LAC leader presented the 6 indicators that should be indicated in the Lesson Plan
and must be observable during Classroom Observation (CO) because she firmly believes that
the quality of learning is greatly influenced by the quality of teaching. The LAC leader
explained and clarified the 6 indicators which determines whether objectives were achieved
for the specific lesson.

Questions were raised and answered regarding the 6 indicators. Objectives,


Activities, Assessment and Agreement must be in total alignment or congruent with the
objectives in both skills and content when writing the Lesson Plan.

Everyone in the group were given words of encouragement by the LAC leader to
prepare lesson Plan for the CO1.

The meeting ended with a prayer at exactly 10:30 A.M.
