What are the characteristics of indigenous knowledge?
The characteristics of indigenous knowledge are mostly based on environmental observation,
traditional way of living and knowledge in surroundings.
Why indigenous knowledge is important for local communities?
Indigenous knowledge are full of knowledge in surviving in nature that local communities can’t
relate and via this indigenous knowledge locals can learn on how to survive when they live or
come to indigenous people’s place.
POST ASSESSMENT
What are the current challenges that IP’s in the Philippines are facing? In your own little ways,
how can you help them?
The current challenges that our IP’s are facing are the problems in health care and lack of
establishment for basic things that can help in everyday lives like schools, proper road, and
hospitals. In our own little ways we can help them by donating something that can help them and
help them to voice out their problems to our government.

ASSESSMENT
Integration of Indigenous Knowledge on our program.
Every knowledge is essential for a success to happen. Just like in our program, Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration Major in Operations management. We are the future
managers and product analyst where we will be involve to jobs related to businesses therefore we
need a lot of knowledge, from different perspectives in order to reach our main goal of achieving
our company’s and own self objectives. The course Philippine Indigenous Knowledge System
has provided us the Indigenous knowledge that offered us a better understanding about it as well
as methods on applying it in our daily lives and even in our own program.
BASIC PROCESS
Planning The first step where the
forecast of future needs,
problems that might
encounter, and think for
solutions ahead of time
happens
Implementation The actual doing of the said
plan and application of the
methods and process with the
goal of reaching the
company’s objectives leading
to its success.
Evaluation Checking for mistakes,
miscalculations, and wrong
moves in order to find or
make better means of

The indigenous has provided
an interesting approach of
doing this part just like in
their planning for where to
live. They ask the questions
of “What would flourishing
as Indigenous peoples in this
place… look like, feel like,
and mean?” The questions
that may also be apply on a
business, especially on those
with direct contacts and
interactions with the
customers.
The one thing we admire
most of the Indigenous
people is their commitment
and passion with their own
traditions and culture. This is
a great example and guide for
the actual implementations of
plans that makes it outcomes
better and more related to the
mission and not just the
monetary values it get.
The evaluation through
Indigenous knowledge is not
focused on looking for
mistakes but rather in its
relevance with their culture
and traditions. This shows
that the focus should be of
their own identity and not just
after the money for when they
established a solid mission,
the success would soon
follow.
The part of improvement is
still and should be related to
their identity to maintain a
fixed mission to produce a
focused process. This leads to
 happen. a prioritization that is
centered on their identity and
maintain their original
missions just like how
Indigenous people are still
doing their traditions,
generation after generations.

All in all, Indigenous Knowledge has offered us a different point of view in making decision
related to our program. This gave us better ideas to and methods to combine with the western
knowledge we grow up with in order to create a better and more diverse solution to the problems
we may encounter by the time we graduate and can be applied to our dream jobs.
