1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Method Statement is to provide the work methods for installation of
Lighting and Receptacle to assure compliance with applicable specification and drawing for
KALSELTENG 2 CFSPP-2x100MW.

2. SCOPE
The scope of this Method Statement covers the objective and requirement of Lighting and
Receptacle for KALSELTENG 2 CFSPP-2x100MW.

3. REFERENCES DOCUMENT
This method statement should be read in conjunction with the latest approved revisions of
following documents:
 Issued for Construction Drawings
 Project Quality Plan
 Project HSE Plan

4. RESPONSIBLE PERSONNEL ON SITE


4.1 Electrical Manager
The Electrical Manager shall be responsible for;

 Preparation, Revision and Implementation of this Method Statement

 Establishment and execution of Lighting & Receptacle completed withCo


accesorie installation schedule and procedure

 Control of Documents and Drawings

 Checking of Materials and Schedule

4.2 QA/QC Manager


The QA/QC Manager shall be responsible for;

 Preparation of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)

 Control of compliance with Drawings and Specifications

 Inspection of complete work

4.3 HSE MANAGER


The HSE Manager shall be responsible for the development, implementation and
monitoring of HSE procedures regarding the installation.

4.4 FIELD ENGINEER/SUPERVISOR

 Material type/size/quantity shall be checked

 Material certificate shall be prepared, if required or specified on the related


specifications

Field Engineer/Supervisor shall be responsible for;

 Coordinate the installation and modification activities and crew

 Draw up installation / modification works and monitor progress

 Observance and enforcement of HSE standard

 Overall Site Safety Management

5. EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS


The following equipment shall be deployed to site and ensure all the equipment as
applicable are properly prepared with inspection certificate.
 Electric Hand Drill
 Hand Crimping Tools
 Electrical Hand Tools
 Hand Cable Cutter
 Adjustable Wrench
 Pipe Vise
 Ground Resistance Tester
 Insulation Tester
 Digital Multimeter
 Other electrical tools.
 Scaffolding (if needed)

6. WORK PROCEDURE
6.2 GENERAL
The applicable drawings and requirements shall be reviewed before installation of
lighting and receptacle. If any deviations are occurred in the result of the drawing
review, it shall be informed to manufacturers and engineering department to clear this
matter.

6.3 MATERIAL RECEIVING


 Required material shall be free of damage
 Material type/size/quantity shall be checked
 Material certificate shall be prepared, if required or specified on the related
specifications.

6.4 HANDLING & STORAGE


All material shall be handled with care and protected from damage during the storage
and transportation.

6.5 PREPARATION
6.4.1 Ensure that the work area is ready and safe to start the installation of lighting and
receptacle.
6.4.2 Check and ensure that shop drawings and materials ready to use for installation
are latest and approved for construction.
6.4.3 Ensure that the materials and accessories received from site store for the
installation of lighting and receptacle complete with accessories are free of rusty
parts and damages.
6.4.4 The correct type of lighting, receptacle & accessories shall be ascertained from
the approved shop drawings prior to installation.

6.5 INSTALLATION
LIGHTING FIXTURES, RECEPTACLE/POWER SOCKET
6.5.1 The approved work plan should be followed.
6.5.2 Fields supervisors shall provide the plans for verification of any critical dimension
and portion/locations before proceeding the work.

6.5.3 Careful handling of lighting fixtures and receptacles upon installation must be
properly implemented to avoid damages.
6.5.4 Installed lighting fixtures and receptacles shall be aligned and levelled properly. It
must be free of dirt or any chemical impurities.
6.5.5 Prior to installation, check lighting fixtures accessories and make sure internal
connection are completed.
6.5.6 Unless otherwise shown, mounting heights of lighting fixtures shall be generally
as follows:
A) I) Low bay lighting fixture in general indoors areas of industrial plants shall
be 3500mm from bottom to finish.
II) Medium bay lighting fixture shall be 3500mm to less than 7000mm from
bottom to finished floor.
III) High bay lighting fixture shall be 7000mm and above from bottom to
finish floor.
B) Light over door openings shall be 300mm bottom of fixture above top of
opening.

C) In boiler galleries, the mounting height of fixture will be a b o v e


3000mm from platform except as shown.
D) Receptacles:
I) In control room/office shall be 500mm from finish floor to center.
II) Elsewhere shall be 1000mm from finish floor to center.
E) Local Switches shall be 1200mm from finish floor to center.
F) Lighting Panels shall be 1800mm from finish floor to top.
6.5.7 Unless otherwise noted, all the lighting fixture shall be fed from respective
lighting panels. Normal AC lighting panels will be fed from MLDB. Emergency AC
lighting panels will be fed from emergency MLDB. DC emergency lighting
distribution boards will be fed from Main DC distribution boards.
6.5.8 All outdoor lighting poles/towers shall be provided with MCB's at their base while
receiving incoming cable.
6.5.9 Separate conduit shall be used for wiring lighting circuit of different lighting
distribution such as Normal AC lighting/emergency DC lighting.

6.5.10 AC & DC shall not be run in the same conduit and junction box. Circuit fed from
different transformer and different batteries (DC source) shall not be run through
same conduit and junction boxes.
6.5.11 Receptacle circuits shall be kept separate and distinct from lighting circuit.
6.5.12 For classified hazardous area having flammable gases and vapors only, all
items and accessories of illumination system shall be explosion proof.
6.5.13 The lighting and small power system will meet the requirements established in
Applicable standard for the appropriate hazard classification.
6.5.14 All outdoor lighting located in wet locations and small power circuits will use
ground-faults circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection for safety.
6.5.15 Elevation of lighting fixtures shall be in accordance with AFC.
6.5.16 Correct rated voltage of power supply shall be check prior for energizing.
6.5.17 Continuity & Insulation resistance test for each circuit shall performed prior for
energizing. It must be recorded. Refer value continuity is 0,5Ω and Insulation
megger > Over limit or 10 GΩ.
6.5.18 Illumination test shall be performed during energizing and must be recorded.

LIGHTING SUB-DISTRIBUTION PANEL

6.5.19 Location of Sub-distribution board installation shall be as per AFC drawing.


However exact location may be varying as per site condition. As built plan if
necessary.
6.5.20 It shall be mounted with appropriate support and aligned properly.
6.5.21 It shall be free of damages and missing accessories.
6.5.22 Circuit Breaker ratings and number of poles are as per AFC drawing.
6.5.23 Mounting height shall be in accordance with AFC drawing.
6.5.24 Sub-distribution board shall be properly grounded as per AFC drawing.
6.5.25 Installed Sub-distribution board shall have padlocked facility.
6.5.26 Installed Sub-distribution board shall be as per required degree of protection per
area (IP41 for indoor & IP55 for outdoor).
6.5.27 Upon completion of installation, field engineer in coordination with QA/QC shall
notify OWNER inspector to perform the required inspection in order to assure

that all requirements are met. All inspection and testing shall be in accordance
with inspection plan.
6.5.28 Dielectric test ensures no leakage current induced from ground panel or neutral
to phase.
6.5.29 Fit up drawing diagram inside panel for guidance
6.5.30 Tighten check connection of termination and identification.
6.5.31 The Emergency lighting is Essential Lighting, refer to Distribution panel different
with Normal Lighting have another Panel Essential for backup power from
Essential Low Voltage UPS battery system. wire and number marking group
refer to drawing Distribution panel to Essential Panel.
7. INSPECTION
Upon completion of the installation, construction engineer shall notify QC engineer for the
required inspection to assure correct erection & installation as per the requirements.
All inspection and testing shall be performed in accordance with the inspection and test plan
and the results shall be documented on the inspection and test report.

8. HSE STATEMENT
In the lighting and receptacle works, the following statements shall be implemented to
ensure safe completion of the works.
 Where required, ensure PTW requirement and conditions are satisfied.
 Personnel health, safety and environment protection shall take priority over all
activities.
 Adequate and appropriate PPEs shall be provided for all personnel.
 Illumination/ventilation shall be provided, if required.
 Housekeeping shall be done.
 Suitable access shall be provided to work site.
 If any work activity is unsafe, do not start, whereby it has started already, do not
continue.
 Compliance with all project HSE procedure.

9. QUALITY PLAN
Competent QA/QC inspectors shall carry out/witness inspection and testing of all installation
work and also conduct a final inspection upon completion of the installation in accordance
with the ITP for Lighting and Receptacle.

10. DOCUMENTATION
All reports and other documents resulting from the inspection and other checks as applicable
during the process of this installation work shall be prepared, controlled, maintained and
formally issued upon work’ completion.
