(1)Define what noun is (InTASC 4 - TESOL 1a).
(2)Describe the different types of nouns (InTASC 4 - TESOL 1d). (3)Classify nouns into different types (InTASC 5 - TESOL 1b).

Opening T asks if the students have heard T-Ss 2 min
the word ‘Noun’ before and asks them to speak about what they know. Warm-up T writes some words on the T-Ss 3 min whiteboard and asks the Ss to pick out what they think are nouns (draw, book, teach, Adam, gold, run, walk, fear).
T asks to open pg.7
Defining Nouns After getting a clear picture of T-Ss 5 min what the students already know,T asks the Ss to read aloud the definition of nouns and then explains it. Describing the types T then explains the 5 different T-Ss 10 min of nouns types of nouns with examples from the lesson and clarifies their doubts.
T calls students randomly to give T-S 3 min
examples for each type and makes corrections when neces- sary. Classifying nouns T draws a table with 5 columns T-S 5 min on the board, fills the columns with the 5 types and then chooses a student and asks him/her to classify the nouns al- ready written on the board at the beginning of the class into their types.
T asks the Ss to sit in pairs, ex- T-Ss 12 min
plains the Exercises 1a and 1b S-S given in the pages 8 and 9 and makes them do the first 10 ques- tions of both.
Closing T gives chances for 6 students to T-Ss 4 min
Wrap-up sum up the lesson taught, 1 for defining nouns and the rest 5 to explain the five types; the teacher adding to their contribu- tions when needed. Assigning the home- T assigns the remaining ques- T-Ss 1 min work tions of both the exercises as homework.
Anticipated Problems & Suggested Solutions:
1.Students take more time for doing the exercise- The remaining part of the ex- ercises could be made to do as homework. 2.The students get bored- A word game could be conducted for sometime to make them interested:Teacher would start with a noun and ask students to con- tinue using the last letter of the said word with the condition that the words be nouns.
