Welcome Message
The YSEALI Boot Camp team is proud to welcome you to
YSEALI Boot Camp 2022 to be held on February 19 and 20, 2023.

The physical 2-day Boot Camp is filled with networking activities,


webinars, and challenges to sharpen your skills and share your successes
with the world.

We hope you are looking forward to joining us on this journey as much as


we are looking forward to meeting and interacting with you! This is the
perfect chance to learn from like-minded individuals, industry partners,
guest speakers, mentors, and facilitators on how to tell your story and
create a long-lasting impact.
BOOT CAMP
OVERVIEW
● To train 150 young changemakers in areas of
advocacy, campaign management, media
Boot Camp communication, impact assessment and
leadership to bring positive changes in their

● To empower the Malaysian youths to develop
their skills and talents.
● To mobilize agents of positive change in their
communities.
● To promote participation of youth in civic
engagement initiatives in Malaysia.
● The series of 2-day Boot Camps will start in November 2022. This
Boot Camp Boot Camp will equip you with the necessary skills, tools and
knowledge needed to run your own civic engagement campaign.

Concepts ● Each Boot Camp will conclude with a round of pitches by


participants for a chance to get seed grants to implement their
campaign. 8 winning teams will be selected to gain funding worth
RM 4,500 and receive 3 months mentorship to implement their
civic engagement campaign.

● The winning teams will then present their results and share their
progress at a physical finale for YSEALI Boot Camp 2022 that will
take place in Kuala Lumpur tentatively in April 2023.

Webinar Series
Hello participants, welcome to YSEALI Boot Camp 2022! We hosted two
webinar series themed The Power of Now, that covered civic engagement
initiatives and environmental issues with the use of technology. We had
speakers who are key players in the industry and of various backgrounds with
a Q&A session at the end of each webinar. After the webinars, we also hosted
Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) sessions where participants had the chance to ask
questions regarding the boot camp. Click the links below for an encore of

Virtual Welcome Session

Before each boot camp, we will be having a virtual call to get to know you
better and to remind participants on what to prepare for the physical boot
camp. At the same time, the boot camp registrations will close on the same
day.

2-day Physical Boot Camps
The 2-day physical boot camp consists of a series of workshops covering
topics such as Advocacy and lobbying, Entrepreneurial mindset, Digital and
Media Literacy skills, Marketing and communications, Finance and budgeting,
and Partnership development. The boot camp will conclude with a pitching
session of their campaign to the judges.

The Boot Camp will conclude with teams presenting their solutions to the
respective judges. You and your team will first be tasked to consolidate
the findings from the Boot Camp to prepare and pitch your civic
engagement campaign.

A panel of judges will assess your submitted 1-2 minute video and your
live 3-minute pitches. There will also be a 3-minute Q&A session.

2 winning teams per state will receive a seed funding of RM 4,500 and a
3-month mentorship to implement their civic engagement campaign with
their communities. We will work with you to implement your campaigns
through mentorships, technical troubleshooting and guidance.

The Boot Camp will use several digital tools that will allow you to learn

Boot Camp Team, and connect with your peers to discuss topics and
