A. Pre-reading Activity
Match the picture.
The teacher will post an example picture of cause and effect. The students will try to
match a picture of a cause with the correct picture of its’ effect.
B. Reading Activity
Group Reading Aloud
- The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups.
a. Group 1 – 1st Paragraph
b. Group 2 – 2nd Paragraph
c. Group 3 – 3rd Paragraph
- Each paragraph will have a pause to answer the guide question given. Each group will
have representatives to write on the board the cause and effect they read on the paragraph
assigned to them.
C. Post-reading Activity
Construct and Act
The students will be divided into 3 groups (their previous group in reading activity). Each
group will write their own cause and effect statement and they need to act it in the class.
They also need to show the importance/relevance of it in real life.
TOPICS:
Group 1 – Environment (example: tree cutting - flood)
Group 2 – Personal Hygiene (eating too many candies - toothache)
Group 3 – Study (reading books - high scores)
CRITERIA PERCENTAGE
Accuracy of the statement 35%
Relevance in real-life situation 25%
Imagination and creativity 25%
Presentation 15%
Total 100%
