Performance Standard: 5S provide a methodology for organizing, cleaning, developing, and sustaining a
productive work environment.
I. LEARNING COMPETENCY/OBJECTIVES: 1. Decrease waste while optimizing productivity through
maintaining an orderly workplace and using visual cues to
attain more consistent operational results.
2. Demonstrate a process for setting up, maintaining, and
cleaning a productive workplace.

B. Pre-Assessment Teacher will explain the mechanics of the game. Teacher
will pair the students by two. Both pair needs to face each
other and tell the first word that comes to their mind when
the teacher say a category. The winning pair is the one who
speaks the same word.

C. Motivation The teacher will show a picture of Sort, Set in Order,
Shine, Standardized, and Sustain, Let them identify it’s uses.

D. Lesson Proper Discuss the uses of 5s Pillars in tools.

The 5S pillars, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and


Sustain, provide a methodology for organizing, cleaning,
developing, and sustaining a productive work environment.

1. Sort – Determine what is appropriate or necessary,


and discard everything that is not.
2. Set in Order – A place for everything and everything
in its place.
3. Shine – Clean everything, make the workplace
spotless.
4. Standardize – Putting the systems in place to
ensure that everyone does things the same way.
5. Sustain – The goal is to stick to the new rules.
Activity Direction: Draw an infographic about 5s Pillars and explain
it in front.

1. What is the advantage of being knowledgeable in 5s

Abstraction Activity 2. “IF YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE, LET OTHERS
LIGHT THEIR CANDLES IN IT”
The class will be divided into 5 members. With their
members, discuss, answer, and share their insights about 5s
Pillars.
Application Activity 3. “ACT IT LIKE YOU KNOW IT”
The class will be divided into 5 group. Each of the group
will act Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
It can be a tableau, role play, or anything that you want but
it should be focus in your assigned topic.
