Class Observation

COMMENTS/OBSERVATIONS:

The teacher pointed out the class, the page and the topic. She introduced the topic very well. Each student had their own
book, the teacher used the data show to project the book digitally, that way everyone knew which part they were working
on.
Before the class began, she wrote the date, topic and page number at one end of the board; leaving space for the image
projection. To introduce the topic, she asked what they knew, then explained it. She asked the students to copy the most
important concepts in their notebooks. While she supervised the students' work, she asked them to copy the most
important concepts in their notebooks.
There were sound distractions outside the classroom which prevented some students from fully concentrating. The
teacher struggled to capture their attention; her speech was well pronounced. She asked the students to make their
contributions in English only.
The teacher and students did an exercise together, she clearly stated the instructions and guided the students to
complete the exercise, they raised their hands to participate.
At all times she tried to address all her students by name, in body language she was authoritative.
Over time, she was a little slow because she did not finish the lesson, although she did get the students to recognize the
vocabulary through writing. As her lesson plans started.
