I. RATIONALE:
The celebration of the Mass is at the heart of Catholic life and worship. By this
sacramental act we fulfil the command of the Lord Jesus to celebrate the Eucharist in memory
of Him. The purpose of every school Mass is to unite all present more closely to Christ, to
deepen their love for him and for others.

The Calabanit Elementary School yearly celebrates the Thanksgiving Mass the end of the
school year. The school then will be celebrating our end of year ‘Mass of Thanksgiving’ on
Friday morning on July 7, 2023 in our covered court specially adorned for the occasion.

This year’s theme for the Mass will be ‘Reflecting on the Image of God’ and throughout
the week pupils will be preparing the hall for the special occasion. A very large cross,
positioned behind the altar was flanked either side by colorful graphical hearts for each pupil
and staff member that consisted of a personally inscribed silver heart with everyone’s name.
The hearts were set across the entire wall of the sports center and reinforced the theme of the
Mass and the firm foundations of our lives in the teachings of Jesus.

The whole class in our school will be joining on the said celebration together with the
inverted parents of our dear learners, choir and altar servers coming from GKK San Antion De
Padua, and Parish Priest from Santa Catalina Parsih, Glan, Sarangani Province.

3. Activity Rationale:
Last Friday of the Academic Year, Holy Mass is a yearly tradition at Calabanit
Elementary School. The purpose of this celebration is to worship and receive God’s
graces, and to unify with Him and with other worshippers in the school. All Catholic and
non catholic learners in the school are invited to join in the Holy Mass to thank our Almighty
for the daily blessings received.

The Mass is the ancient prayer of Christians and includes a sharing of Bible
passages and the offering of the Jesus’ gift of his Body to the Father. The learners are
invited to serve in the roles of ushers, readers, altar servers and cantors. There are
several opportunities for children to learn and contribute their musical gifts for the praise
and worship of God. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate at Mass and in
Eucharistic Adoration.

Hence, we ask for the approval of the authorized signatories for the use of MOOE
fund in the conduct of the said activity.
d. Objective:
Terminal Objective – to unite all present, especially children, parents and teachers more
closely to Christ. To Give thanks to the Lord.
Enabling Objectives:
1. to celebrate Year-End Thanksgiving Mass.
e. Expected Output:
- 100% participation in the celebration of the Year-End Thanksgiving Mass.

f. Methodology:
Learners, parents, teachers and other guest will be informed about the upcoming
Mass on the scheduled date and time. They will be advised to bring in-kind offerings and
be present on the celebration. Fellowship lunch will follow after the Thanksgiving Mass.
