2. INJECTION – NJNIIOECT

The act or an instance of injecting a drug or

other substance into the body. : a solution (as of a
drug) intended for injection (as by catheter or
hypodermic syringe) either under or through the
skin or into the tissues, a vein, or a body cavity.

3. HUMAN GROWTH – NHAMU HTGROW

It is a protein produced in the body that's

important not only during childhood but also
throughout adulthood. Growth hormone is
produced by the pituitary gland, which is known as
the "master gland" because it secretes many
hormones that control the actions of other glands.

4. EXERCISE – EEERXISE

These endorphins interact with the receptors in

your brain that reduce your perception of pain.

5. GROWTH – TWOGHR

It refers to the increase in mass and size of a

body or organs. It typically occurs through the
multiplication of cells and an increase in
intracellular substance. Development refers to the
physiological and functional maturation of the
organism.

6. INSULIN – NNLISIU

It is a peptide hormone produced by beta cells of

the pancreatic islets encoded in humans by the INS
gene. It is considered to be the main anabolic
hormone of the body.

7. GLUCAGON – GGCNAULO

It is a glucoregulatory peptide hormone that

counteracts the actions of insulin by stimulating
hepatic glucose production and thereby increases
blood glucose levels.

8. TESTOSTERONE – TTTEEESSOORN

It is a sex hormone that plays important roles in

the body. In men, it's thought to regulate sex drive
(libido), bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass
and strength, and the production of red blood cells
and sperm.

9. HORMONES – NEHOOMRS

This are chemical substances that act like

messenger molecules in the body. After being
made in one part of the body, they travel to other
parts of the body where they help control how
cells and organs do their work.

10. EPINEPHIRE – PPEEERIHIN

Adrenaline is a hormone your adrenal glands make

to help you prepare for stressful or dangerous
situations.

“Okay class, did you enjoy this activity?”

“Yes sir!”
“Okay if you are all enjoy this activity what word
that is given?”

“Medicines, Injection, Human Growth, Exercise, Growth,

Insulin, Glucagon, Testosterone, Hormones, Epinephire”
d. Lesson Proper
“Our lesson for today is all about Exercise
and hormones: Hormones involved in exercise.”

“Now, These are the things that you need to

attain within this period.”

1. Define what is Hormones and Exercise;

2. Identify the hormones involved in exercise
and its function.
3. Explain the effect of particular hormones in
the body if not properly regulated.
4. Describe the affect of the pancreatic hormones
insulin and glucagon on blood glucose.

“Class, Are you ready?”

“Yes Sir!”
“Okay, before we discuss hormones involved
exercise, So let’s define what is hormones and
exercise.”

“Ms. Kristine kindly read the definition of

hormones and exercise in the screen.”
“Hormones are your body's chemical messengers. They travel
in your bloodstream to tissues or organs. They work slowly,
over time, and affect many different processes, including:
Growth and development. Metabolism - how your body gets
energy from the foods you eat.”
College of Teacher Education

S.Y. 2022-2023

“Exercise involves engaging in physical activity and

increasing the heart rate beyond resting levels. It is an
important part of preserving physical and mental health.”
“Okay! Thank you so much Ms. Kristine’

“Okay, Class! Let’s proceed to Insulin. So, What is

insulin? Class anyone to read the definition of
insulin in the screen?’

“Mr. Tomas kindly read the definition of insulin.”

“Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by beta cells of

the pancreatic is lets encoded in humans by the INS gene.
“Okay! Thank you so much Mr. Tomas.” It is considered to be the main anabolic hormone of the
body.”
“And also class, Insulin is a hormone that lowers
the level of glucose (a type of sugar) in the blood.
It's made by the beta cells of the pancreas and
released into the blood when the glucose level
goes up, such as after eating.”

“Did you understand, what is insulin class?”

“Okay Class, if you understand the insulin so let’s

move on to the Glucagon. Any other ideas what is “Yes Sir!”
glucagon class? Anyone?”

“Okay. Mr. Jerymi?”

“It raises the concentration of glucose and fatty acids in

the bloodstream Sir.”
“Excellent!”
College of Teacher Education
Dubinan East, Santiago City, 3311
Region 2, Philippines
S.Y. 2022-2023

“Glucagon is a peptide hormone, produced by

alpha cells of the pancreas. It raises the
concentration of glucose and fatty acids in the
bloodstream and is considered to be the main
catabolic hormone of the body. It is also used
as a medication to treat a number of health
conditions.”

“Now let’s proceed to epinephrine, what is the

first thing that comes into your mind when you
hear the word epinephrine.”

“Ms. Mica”
“Adrenaline, Sir.”

“Thank you!”

“Adrenaline, also known as epinephrine, is a

hormone and medication which is involved in
regulating visceral functions. It appears as a
white microcrystalline granule. Adrenaline is
normally produced by the adrenal glands and
by a small number of neurons in the medulla
oblongata”

“Next is the testosterone, Kindly read Ms.

Mykee the definition of testosterone?”
Testosterone is a sex hormone that plays important roles in
the body. In men, it's thought to regulate sex drive (libido),
bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and strength, and
the production of red blood cells and sperm.”
“Okay class did you understand, what is
testosterone?”

“Yes Sir!”

S.Y. 2022-2023

“Class, Let’s move on to Human growth

Hormone.”

“In your own opinion What is Human Growth

Hormone?”
“HGH, produced by the pituitary gland, spurs growth in
“Ms. Jessica” children and adolescents.”

“Very good”

“Class, It also helps to regulate body

composition, body fluids, muscle and bone
growth, sugar and fat metabolism, and possibly
heart function.”

“Human Growth Hormone (HGH or GH) is a

protein produced in the body that's important
not only during childhood but also throughout
adulthood. Growth hormone is produced by
the pituitary gland, which is known as the
"master gland" because it secretes many
hormones that control the actions of other
glands.”

“Okay, last is the Insulin – like Growth Factor,

Ms. Shaila kindly read the meaning of of Insulin
– like Growth Factor.”
“The insulin-like growth factors are proteins with high
sequence similarity to insulin. IGFs are part of a complex
system that cells use to communicate with their
physiologic environment.”
“Thank you Ms. Shaila”
College of Teacher Education

S.Y. 2022-2023

“Also, Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) is a

hormone that, along with growth hormone (GH),
helps promote normal bone and tissue growth and
development. The test measures the amount of
IGF-1 in the blood. IGF-1 is primarily produced in
the liver, skeletal muscles, and many other tissues
in response to GH stimulation.”

e. Generalization

“What are the things that you have learned in this

Lesson/Topic?”

“Can you give me at least 3 hormones that

involved in exercise. Anyone in the class?”

“Okay Mr. Jessmer”

“Sir Testosterone, Human Growth Hormone, and
Glucagon Sir”

“Thank you so much Jessmer.”
