A. Mandatory Segregation At Source
1. Residents shall ensure that the solid wastes are brought out in front of
their gates/doors or along the collection route of the collection vehicle/cart
during the collection day and hour.
2. Any person can report to the City General Services Officer for any
uncollected waste within the vicinity of residence.
3. Collection shall be separate for each general type of solid waste,
biodegradable waste, non-biodegradable/recyclable waste; non-recyclable
and special waste.
4. Only properly packed segregated solid waste shall be collected by the
collection crew using modified garbage trucks of the City Government or
accredited collection trucks/vehicles of the barangay strictly following
collection schedules set by the City Solid Waste Management Board.
5. Solid waste including recyclable items, once collected and put into the
collection equipment by the collection crew, become the property of the City
Government.
6. City employees/personnel directly dealing with solid waste collection are
the only persons allowed to handle solid waste from the generators.
7. Collection of solid waste must be strictly done in manner which prevents
damage to containers, spillage or scattering of solid waste within the
collection vicinity.
8. Collection trucks/vehicles must be covered properly with “trapal” or
“tolda” when transporting collected waste to the Vigan solid Waste
Management Center.
9. All collected solid waste shall be transported directly to the Vigan Solid
Waste Management Center (VSWMC) for resource recovery, processing,
and final disposal purposes.
10. Barangay officials shall assist the City General Services Office in the
orderly and sanitary way of collecting and transporting solid wastes.
