5.0 PROCEDURE
1) Shifting of Fabricated Material to Erection site
The fabricated items to be transported with the help of trailers to the erection site and to
be stacked upon wooden slippers of adequate sizes.
2) Edge protection for slings
Prior to Erection of Floor beam, Edge protection will be provided at the places where slings
will be tied to avoid any sling damage.
3)Preparation for bolt tighting/welding
Approach ladders & working platform to be prepared for the personal working at the top for
placement of items to and subsequence bolt tightening/welding
4)Preparation for positioning of Crawler crane
Area to be leveled & barricated before positioning of the crawler crane . If required after
leveling area to be compacted.
5) Positioning of crane ( 75 MT)
The crane should be positioned as per the discussion with the crane operator,Concerned
Area Enginner, Rigging foreman and based on the Lifitng material weight. The crane
boom length & radius to be fixed based on the load chart

10 ) Reaching of worker at the top of the Assembly/cloumn. Only steel ladder
with fall arrestor to be used for reaching the required level.
12 ) Moving down the worker to ground level Only steel ladder with fall arrestor
to be used for coming down.

a)Floor beams will be lifted vertically by 1.5 to 2 m from the static position .
b)If required one more crane/Hydra is deployed for tailing operation.
c) Tie the guy rope before lifting the pannel/column.
d) Ensure the steel ladder is properly welded to the column/pannel.
e) Ensure fall arrestor rope is properly attached to the ladder.

7) Movement of Floor beam:
After lifting the Floor beam , it is to be moved to the appropriate area for placement.
Before moving PP rope is to tied to control/adjust the swing during movement.
8) Lowering of assesmbly pannel up to the required level
9) Posisiton theAssembly pannel\column to fix with the bolt properly
10 ) Tying of guy rope to fix structures. Only wire rope is to be used for guying as
a guy rope.
11 ) Reaching of worker at the top of the Assembly/cloumn. Only steel ladder
with fall arrestor to be used for reaching the required level.
13 ) Moving down the worker to ground level Only steel ladder with fall arrestor
to be used for coming down.

5.0 PROCEDURE
1)High Pr. Air(4.5Kg) to be transfer from Compressor to Metal Bin and prepairation for
Shot Blasting
Air compressor with good physical fitness shall be mobilized at blasting area to minimize
hoseraw
The length.
material(structural Steel) to be shifted from the stack yard to fabrication bed by
hydra/ manually.
2) Connection of hose from compressor to metal bin.
Hose connection shall be made by good condition hose clamp and if practicable joints shall
be avoided in between compressor descharge valve and metal bin connection point.
3) Feeding of metal core in metal bin
The approved size blasting material shall be feeded manualy in to the metal bin.
4) Blasting of steel member surface by directing pressurized blasting nozle.
The distance of nozle shall be maintained to obtain cleane surface.the pressure shall also
be maintained through out the operation.
5)Shifting of cleaned materials to paint shop/yard
The cleaned material to be shifted from the blasting Bed to paint shop/yard by hydra or
Crane.
6)Painting of blasted material through compressor & Paint gun.
Painting to be done on blasted surface through paint gun.

7.0 Safety Precautions
7.1 PPE Required Safety PPEs: Blasting Shield, Hand gloves, Safety shoes, Gogles,Nose Musk.
7.2 Do's & Don's Dos: 1) To wear safety PPEs
2) Follow instructions from team leader & safey officer
3) Follow as per the laid down procedure
4) Use the proper approach made for entry and exit from the fabrication Bed & yard.
Do nots:
1) Do not allow any unauthorised persons to enter in the area
2) Do not make Panic if any emergency situation arises.
3) Do not do unsafe action
