Concepts:
 Volcano is a vent in the Earth’s crust, it is like a chimney. It releases magma, ash and
other gases.
 Crater is the vent or mouth of the volcano.
 Magma refers to molten rock which can be found inside the volcano.
 Lava are magma that reaches the surface of the Earth.
 Shield Volcano has a broad cone gently sloping at an angle of 6 to 12 degrees.
 Cinder cone volcano is made up of loose rock fragments given off from the central
forming a slope of about 30 degrees.
 Composite Volcano has steep slope compared with the cinder cone.
