IV. PROCEDURES Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

Preliminary Activities:
a. Prayer Children, let us all Stand up and pray.

In the name of the father, and of the son and of the

hoy spirit. Amen.......
Heavenly Father and Your
Beloved son Jesus Christ. Thank you for
life to enjoy, another day to learn and a
new set of things we will experience
Amen.
Good morning, Class!
Good morning, Ma’am! and Good
b. Greetings Morning, Classmates, its nice to meet
you today!

Anyone from the class who can tell me who is not (one of the pupils will announce who’s
c. Checking of Attendance
present today before we begin our discussion? not present)

Class always remembers my house rules:

d. Classroom Set-ups 1. Treat me and Others with respect at all times
2. Raise your hand when you want to speak
3. Seat properly and,
4. Lastly listen and be quiet when others are
talking.
A. Reviewing previous lesson or So before we start our discussion let us all stand up
presenting the new lesson and follow this song to energize our bodies.

( the student will all stand up to follow the song

that the teacher set up to energize her students )

Class let us all sing and dance the song YMCA

“Young man, there's a place you can go

I said, young man, when you're short on your
dough
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything for you men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
You can get yourself clean, you can have a good
meal
You can do what ever you feel”

Now Class do you already energize? Yes, Ma’am!

Class, let's have a quick recap about our discussion

yesterday.

What was our lesson all about? Our lesson is all about polygon

Very good!, it is all about polygons. And when we polygon is a plane figure with at least
say polygons, it is what? three straight sides and angles, and
typically five or more

Yes , correct!

Anyone from the class who can you give an Triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons,
example of a polygon? and hexagons

Very good! Triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons,

and hexagons are all examples of polygons.

So, how many angles are there in a triangle? There are three angles in a triangle

And how about quadrilaterals? While, qaudrilateral has a four angles,

Ma’am

Very good class!

B. Establishing a purpose for the
lesson So let’s now proceed to our discussion I have here a
Picture (The teacher will show the picture of
Philippine flag)

So, what is this, Class?

A philippine flag
Now scan the picture of philippine flag, does it
have polygon? Yes, Ma’am!

Now scan the A triangle

picture, what
can you see
about the A sun and star

fl Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao

Very Good! it has a polygon, and what plane figures
can you see here?

Correct a triangle is made up of three segments

called sides and also it has 3 angles. By stoping, standing straight and salute
And the point where the two sides meet is called a the flag by placing our right palm over
vertex. our left chest while singing the
National Anthem
Now what can you see inside the plane figure?

Correct it has a sun and three star, which the star

represent the three major islands and that is?
Anyone?

Now, how can you show your love and respect to

our philippine flag?
By doing what?

Very Good!
C. Presenting examples/ So I also prepared a presentation here. Anyone
instances of the new lesson who can read it?

Ms. Kyla assigned some of her pupils to bring (pupils will read the sentence written
different objects with the shape of a triangle. on the chart)
Rochelle brought a picture of pizza while Erika
brought a picture of the sailboat and lastly Alexa
brought a picture of a cloth hanger.

D. Discussing new concepts and Class, please observe the different triangular
practicing new skills #1 objects

How will you describe the different objects with the The triangular objects are all different
shape of triangle? in sides and in angles.

What plane figure are they? Triangle

Yes, and triangles are classified according to their

sides and angles.
E. Discussing new concepts and So, now let's proceed in the
practicing new skills #2 classification of triangles according to
their angles.

1. Right Triangle – a right triangle has

a right angle which measures 900.

2. Acute Triangle – an acute triangle,

which measure less than 900.

3. Obtuse Triangle – a obtuse triangle,

which measure more than 900.
Do you understand? Yes, Ma’am!
Now, triangles are also classified
according to its sides.

1. Equilateral Triangle – all sides are

equal.

2. Isosceles Triangle – a triangle in

which atleast two sides have eqaul
measurement.

3. Scalene Triangle – it has no eqaul sides.

Do you understand?
Yes, Ma’am!

F. Developing mastery (leads to Class do you want to play a game?

Formative Assessment # 3) Yes Ma’am!
Rules:
1. Minimize your voice
2. Listen to the direction
3. If you lose you need to answer the question

So our game is called Color game with a twist.

Direction: Before you roll the dice with a color on

it, you must choose a partner who will guess the
color. If he/she predicts the incorrect color, he/she
must answer the question. While if he/she chooses
the correct color, she receives a prize and can
select the second player with whom she/he want
to play.

Direction: Supply the missing words or numbers to

complete the statement. Choose your answer
inside the box.

(the pupils will play the game.....)

900 More than 3 2

Less than Right 3 No

A right triangle has a right angle which measures

(1) Answer:
An acute triangle has (2) acute angles, each 1. 900
2. 3
measuring (3) 900
An obtuse triangle has an obtuse angle which 3. less than

measures (4) 4. more than

900
5. 3
An equilateral triangle has (5) equal sides.
6. 2
An isosceles triangle has (6) equal sides. A
7. no
scalene triangle has (7) __equal sides.

G. Finding practical applications I. Now bring a 1 whole sheet of paper for your
of concepts and skills in daily another activity
living
Direction:Identify each triangle based on angles.
Check (🗸) the box (Acute, Obtuse or Right)

Triangle Acute Obtuse Right Answer :

a.
a. acute triangle
b. acute triangle
c. obtuse triangle
d. acute triangle
e. right triangle
b.

c.

d.

e.

H. Making generalizations and Ok, class a triangle is formed by three segments

abstractions about the lesson and that segments is called?
side, Ma’am!

How about the point where two sides meet?

Ma’am vertex!

Yes correct, a triangle can be classified according to

their angle and their sides. What are they?
Triagle according to angles are right,
acute and obtuse while triangle
according to their sides are
equilateral, isosceles and scalene.
I. Evaluating Learning Seems like you already mastered the lesson, now
lets have another game called XOXO

Direction: It's a game in which I will divide you in a

two groups, each groups need a 1 representative to
answer the question. In this game you need to
quickly ring the bell to answer, so that you can gain
a score. So the first person who can ring the bell
and answer it correctly can write their marks (if x
or o) in a empty row. The first player to get 3 of her
marks in a row (up, down, across, or diagonally) is
the winner.

(the pupils will play the game.....)

1. 2.
Answer:
1. equilateral triangle
2. isosceles triangle
3. scalene triangle
3. 4.
4. scalene triangle
5. scalene triangle
6. isosceles triangle
7. equilateral triangle
8. isosceles triangle
9. scalene triangle
10. scalene triangle
5. 6. 11. equilateral triangle
12. equilateral triangle

7. 8.

9. 10.

11. 12.

J. Additional activities for I will give you an additional activity, which will be
application or remediation your homework for tomorrow.

Direction: Give atleast 5 examples of each kind of

angle (right, acute, or obtuse). Draw your answer in
your Mathematics notebook.

V. REMARKS For Example: 5 items

Compute the result of the 5 x ____ = _______
evaluation and analyze. 4 x ____ = _______
3 x ____ = _______
2 x ____ = _______
1 x ____ = _______
0 x ____ = _______
