The teacher reads every word and the children will follow.

Guessing Game
Motivation The teacher shows the pictures of words with /nd/ as in hand and let the

children guess the name of each picture. ( Refer to the pictures on the
activity sheet )
Modeling
(I do) * The teacher presents the phrases on the strips/ppt.

Now, I’m going to read the phrases. Listen carefully as I read the phrases.
The teacher identifies the words with /nd/ used in the phrases and
reads them one by one.
Guided Practice Guided Practice 1 ( Round Reading Activity )
(We do) *The teacher introduces the Round Reading activity and its mechanics.
(6 mins) * The teacher groups the children into 6. He/ She will give each child in
the group a phrase to read. Each child will be given the chance to read the
written phrase before the timer starts.
* As the timer starts, each child will read his/her phrase as fast as
he/she could then pass the written phrase to the next child to him/her as
the teacher says the word pass.
* The process continues until each child takes hold of the first phrase
given to him/her.
* The group that has the shortest time to finish reading the round
phrases wins.
Guide Practice 2
The teacher will present the sentences in the powerpoint presentation and
read them together.
Sentences:
1. My friend handed her hand.
2. I live near the pond.
3. The pond is surrounded by sand.
4. She handed a magic wand.
5. The wind blows hard.

Independent Practice
(You do) Let the children read the short story entitled “The Good Friends” on the
(7 mins) screen.

Assessment Comprehension Questions:

2.Who wants to go to the pond?
3. What covers the pond?
4. What do they do with the pond?
5. What values do Glenda and Brenda show?
