PHONEMIC AWARENESS TASK
1. Rhyming Awareness Task
- Sample Exercises:
a. Ask students to identify rhyming words from a set of words (e.g., cat, hat, mat).
b. Provide a word and ask students to generate a list of words that rhyme with it.
c. Read a short poem or nursery rhyme and have students identify rhyming pairs.

2. Segmentation Awareness Task

- Sample Exercises:
a. Say a word, and have students segment it into individual phonemes (e.g., "cat" → /k/ /æ/ /t/).
b. Present a picture and ask students to identify the sounds they hear in the word.
c. Provide a multisyllabic word and have students break it into syllables.

3. Blending Awareness Task

- Sample Exercises:
a. Present individual phonemes and ask students to blend them into a word (e.g., /s/ /u/ /n/ → "sun").
b. Show pictures representing words and have students blend the sounds to identify the word.
c. Use blending in sentence context, reading phrases or sentences with words containing target phonemes.

These phonemic awareness tasks and exercises aim to develop essential skills such as recognizing rhymes, segmenting words into phonemes, and blending
phonemes into words. Regular practice with these activities helps lay a strong foundation for early reading and literacy skills.
