 When you watch movies or read stories, do you feel for the characters when they are being attacked by different challenges?

B. ANALYSIS Present different video clips to the class.

- I will let you see video clips of different situations in life and please take note of what is being encountered by the main character/s.

C. ABSTRACTION The video clips show different conflicts in our lives. Some may have experienced it and some have not but we can relate to the familiarity of
the situations and how it made us feel. Conflicts cause problems and in the plot of a story, conflicts cause the rising of action. There is no
good story if there are no conflicts in it. Somehow, in real life situations, we feel good if we overcome conflicts in our lives.

a. Man vs. Man – the main character against another character (mostly, the villain)
b. Man vs. Nature – the main character against the forces of nature
c. Man vs. Society – the protagonist against the laws, norms or culture of the people / society
d. Man vs. Himself – the main character against his conscience or will
e. Man vs. Technology – the main character against machines
f. Man vs. the Supernatural – the main character against the supernatural forces or magical beings
