 Identify the correct prosodic features of speech or proper identification and presentation
 Construct and present short dialogue using correct prosodic features of speech
 Value the importance of prosodic features of speech in oral language and fluency

I have here 5 sets of words and phrases. What I
want you to do is to read the words and phrases
with proper intonation and expression.

In the first set, you raise your voice in the


syllable that is being stressed. First set:
1. handsome

3. interesting
4. adventure
5. cafeteria
In the second set, you read the words and
phrases from low, normal to high tone of voice. Second set:
(Low, Normal, High)
1. Stop!
2. Ouch!

The class will be grouped into two. The students (The students will be given ten minutes to

IV. Evaluation
From what we have discussed, what are the prosodic features of speech?

Stress is the emphasis on a particular syllable or word.


Pitch is the highness or lowness of tone or voice.
Intonation is the variation of pitch in the spoken language.
Juncture is the pauses in the speech.
Rate is the speed of speaking.

V. Assignment
Deliver the short poem “Song to Celia by Ben Janson” with correct prosodic features of
speech. Record your extemporaneous speech and send it in our groupchat (English 10).
