Students from Los Andes school located in Fontibon have been fostered to improve their English as a Foreign Language skills by several
strategies, focusing on non-grammar-based learning and working projects like English Day. Students are familiar with the statement of
English is a very important and defining language to access post-high school education and working environments. Therefore, students have
a good approach to the language though, we need to consolidate the A2 level and look for the B1.1 (CEFR) required by MEN for 6th graders
The main goal of the subject is to develop communicative competence by integrating the four language skills (reading, writing, speaking,
and listening) besides the grammar section as a meaningful language usage for using English as a main tool to interact in the school context.
Listening: To listen oral texts about specific information in English and understand the main information.
Writing: To write a description about what people are doing at the moment.
Speaking: To talk about people´s personalities.
Reading: to Understand short texts of a certain level of difficulty about how to spend time in face to face or online interactions with friends.
Grammar: To Develop thinking skills to express, build, interpret, value, vocabulary and grammatical structures about present continuous tense
and free time activities through the development of recreational activities, study and permanent assessment to develop their language
skills.
