NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CRAFTING OF DEVELOPMENT PLANS
An individual Development Plan is a written list of goals mapped to a timeline and includes
goal setting for different areas teachers want and need to focus to build their academic career. It
serves as roadmap to help teachers achieve the short- and long-term teaching, service, and
scholarly goals.
To help the teachers to craft their individual development plans, a SLAC was held in the
ICT room at 3:00 in the afternoon. It was attended by 8 teachers and the school principal. The
discussant was Ma’am _____. She discussed about the purpose and importance of having a
development plan. Sir Francisco Hechanova also shared some tips and best practices on how
teachers can learn new skills or improve their expertise in their field.
The SLAC leader talked about the most common professional development types, the
different steps in completing the PDP and explained the different parts of the development plans
and what to write on it. She encouraged each teacher to be true to oneself and to supply what they
really need to develop to grow professionally. The result of E-SAT was used to help teachers
identify their strengths and weaknesses for improvement.
