LESSON 4B – Shopping

ASK Do you like shopping for food?

What do you like shopping for?
Do you have a favourite food that you like to buy a lot of?

SAY Imagine I buy a coconut.

W.O.B It ________________ (sight) weird.

It ________________ (taste) unusual.
It ________________(tact) hard.
It ________________(smell) of anything.
It ________________ (hearing) hollow.

ASK Can you complete these sentences with VERBS OF SENSES?

ELICIT and Complete sentences: LOOKS | TASTES | FEELS | DOESN’T SMELL | SOUNDS

Assign ONE VERB to each student and have him/her create 5 different sentences with that same verb. Get them to write them
down.

W.O.B. It looks as if it is going to rain

She sounds like Madonna
This blanket feels quite soft
The pudding tastes delicious
The fish smells horrible

USING THE PICTURES FROM FCE EXAM or ANY OTHER PICTURES – Have students collaborate to describe the images
They should use the structures for speculation.
