together a very short story. I will choose only five
students who will act out the short story with me.

Today, we will tackle about noting details


pertaining to a) character b) setting and c) events.
Noting Details – is a brief record of something
that one has written down on paper. It answer the
questions Who, What, Where, When, Why, and
How. They are called Wh and H questions.

Characters -are the people, animals, or things in


the story.

For example , in the story that we have read and


act out, the characters are Jed, Ivan, Xabrina,
Giel, and Mery An. Thus, It answers the question
Who?
Setting – refers to the place, location, or time in
which the story happens.
• Place- answers the question Where?
For example, based on the story that we have
read and act out, it happened inside the
classroom. Therefore, the setting of the story is in
the classroom.
• Time- answers the question When?
For example, based in the story that we have
read and act out, it happened in Friday morning.

Events – are the things that happened in the


story. It has a beginning, middle, and an ending. It
can answer the questions What, Why, and How.

Example of events:
Jed, Ivan, Giel, Xabrina and Mery An received a
gift from their teacher.
They immediately opened the gift.
They thanked their teacher.

To further understand, let us provide more stories.


Listen carefully because at the end of the story,
some questions will be asked. Take note of the
characters, setting, and the events.

Now, let us answer the following questions:

Now, we will a short story again. After reading the


story, I will choose three students again in
answering the questions about the story.

to the back of the class, and stand beside the last
row of chairs. I will read the questions and you
