PEACE EDUCATION LESSON PLAN: February Week 2


I. Objectives:
 Understand the principles of restorative justice.
 Explore how restorative justice practices can be applied in resolving conflicts.
 Engage in role-playing scenarios to practice restorative justice communication.

II. Subject Matter:


A. Topic: Restorative Justice Practices
B. References: DepEd Memorandum #001 s. 2024 on Peace Education
Resources on restorative justice principles
C. Materials:
Whiteboard and markers
Multimedia presentation on restorative justice Role-playing scenarios
Small group discussion sheets
Projector and screen for multimedia exploration
III. Procedure:
A. Preparation and Settling In: Arrange seating for small group discussions.
Prepare role-playing scenarios and discussion sheets.
B. Peace Education Learning Session:
B.1 Introduction (5 minutes):
Introduce the topic of restorative justice and its role in resolving conflicts.
Discuss the key principles of restorative justice.

Icebreaker Activity: "Peaceful World Collage" (10 minutes):


Begin with a brief reflection on the previous week's homework assignment on
Positive Peace initiatives.
Connect the concepts of Positive Peace, justice, and restorative justice.

Multimedia Exploration (8 minutes):


Present a multimedia overview of restorative justice principles. Highlight real-life
examples of successful restorative justice practices.

Small Group Discussions (8 minutes): Divide students into small groups.


Provide discussion sheets with questions related to restorative justice.

restorative justice in conflict resolution. Assign a reflective homework task: Students write a
short paragraph reflecting on a conflict they have experienced and propose a restorative
justice approach to resolving it.
