CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
We give thanks to God Almighty who has bestowed blessings on us, so that we continue
to be in abundance. However, we must admit that around us there are still children who live
unfit and need more attention, especially in orphanages.
An orphanage is a child social welfare business institution that has the responsibility to
provide social welfare services to abandoned, orphaned, orphaned and orphaned children.
Orphanages have the duty to provide protection for children's rights as representatives of
parents in meeting the mental and social needs of foster children, so that they have the
opportunity to develop themselves until they reach a mature level of maturity. Orphanages are
also expected to make these children able to carry out their roles as individuals and citizens in
social life (Dinas Sosial, 2018). In carrying out their duties and roles, orphanages often receive
assistance from donors or the public in the form of money, basic needs, and so on.
Since 2020, Indonesia has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which requires
people not to be able to interact much with other people. This also affects the assistance that is
usually received by orphanages, which when the pandemic decreases. Even children in
orphanages who should interact a lot with other people can no longer do it like before the
pandemic. Of course this can affect their growth and development because of the lack of social
activities that can help them to socialize with other people.
Therefore, based on the problems above, a plan was made to visit the orphanage directly
as a form of solution to the problems above. With this, not only the orphanage receives financial
assistance or basic needs that have been reduced since the pandemic, but also the children in
the orphanage can re-interact with other people and can participate in helping their social and
emotional development. Our hope is that this social project activity can be carried out optimally
and well organized, so that we can play a role as a means of allocating material assistance to
those in need and hopefully this small step that we take can be a trigger for movements like this
in places and groups. other.

1.2 Purpose
Based on the background and formulation of the problem above, the objectives to be
achieved from this activity include:
1. Assisting the Gema Insan Amanah Foundation Orphanage in the form of money and goods
they need.
2. Help children from the Gema Insan Amanah Foundation Orphanage so that they feel better
and are always enthusiastic in everyday life.
3. We are helping the surrounding community become more aware of the Gema Insan Amanah
Orphanage Foundation and sympathise with these children.
1.3 Benefits
Based on the above objectives, the benefits that can be received by the community are:

We went to the Gema Insan Amanah Foundation Orphanage directly and asked
what items were really needed, so that we could meet the needs of those who are currently
unable to fulfill them properly. In addition, we also asked for some general information
about the orphanage as a benchmark for our activities, related to what activities should be
carried out and how much funds would be required.
We open donations for people who are moved to help the Gema Insan Amanah
Foundation Orphanage and participate in the growth and development of the children in the
orphanage by sharing. We ourselves are also moved to provide support in the form of funds
that will be collected by each of us amounting to IDR 100,000.

3. Allocate Funds for Needs
After receiving the funds, we allocated the funds to purchase items that were
needed by the Gema Insan Amanah Foundation Orphanage.
We will carry out the program plan that has been prepared, which is to make a
donation to the Gema Insan Amanah Foundation Orphanage. After that, we will hold social
activities with elementary school children who are there.
