within Nigeria.
In addition, specify the nature of the business and location.
LUSH HAIR
Lush is an hair producing company in Nigeria where different types of hair are made e.g wow
braids, mega braids, kinkin royal and super braids which comes in different colors like black, white,
blue, purple, red and brown e.t.c
The company has different locations in Nigeria, their head office is located at Ikorodu Lagos while
they also have a branch in Benin located at Sapele road beside Market square.
The company is divided into different segments with different contractors and managers.
There are top managers who control other managers, the administrative managers and the
production managers.
The administrative manager is in charge of employment and payment of salaries, there are different
administrative managers in lush. while the production manager is in charge of production as the
name implies. He takes care of all the production processes from fibre to finished products.
The production manager is in charge of the settings of the company and controls work from those
who work on the pp machine which smooths the fibre and then to the cutter who measures and cut
then goes to the first scaler who scales and hand it over to the brushers who brush and thereafter to
the second scaler who scales and gives it to those who ties and package it.
After packaging it is sealed then the final scaler scales the carton and seal it also also. These are the
procedures of mega braids.
ROLES OF A MANAGER
1. He makes sure there is an increase in production
2. He communicates the interest of the employees to the contractors
3. He relays information to the employees
4. He makes sure goods are of good qualities
5. He settles disputes among employees and punish those that deserves it
FUNCTIONS OF A MANAGER
MANAGERS PLANS
The managers plan the target production and makes sure they achieve it.
ORGANIZE
The manager organizes the company by deciding where and how the machines and materials
should be placed, the settings and how work should be done.
In lush, the manager organizes the fibre settings, how the brushers brush and how the scalers and
packers do their work efficiently and effectively.
DIRECTS
The manager directs the activities of the organization.
In lush, the manager directs the loaders on how to pack the finished products and arrange them
properly.
STAFFING
The manager employs the right set of persons needed for the production by interviewing them after
which he selects the most suited ones for the job.
CONTROL
The manager controls every activities in the company in order to achieve it’s goals.
He changes the work position of staffs in order for them to be good in all the procedures.
SKILLS OF A MANAGER

 A manager should know how to carry everyone along
 A manager should be care and be patient with his employees
