Weather Disturbances
-refer to any disruption of the atmosphere’s stable condition.It can
manifest through the formation of low pressure area or different
prevailing winds like monsoons and Intertropical convergence Zone
or ITCZ.
Types of Weather disturbance/Tropical Cyclones
1. Tropical Disturbance
2. Tropical Depression
3. Tropical Storm
4. Typhoon

Tropical Storm-once a tropical depression has intensified,it becomes


a tropical storm, which has a maximum wind speed of 62-88 kph.
Typhoon-an intense tropical cyclone with maximum wind speed of
118-220 kph.

What to do before a Typhoon
1. People tune-in to the radio ant television.
2. They prepare enough food and flashlight.
3. Strengthen their houses with the use of poles.
4. They also cut extra branches of trees near their houses.
What to do during a typhoon
1. Stay indoors.
2. Be alert about your local office advisory regarding evacuation.
3. Stay away from places that may have short circuit.
4. Boil your drinking water,floods may have contaminated the tap
water.
5. Check your relatives who are in the affected area.
What to do after the typhoon
1. Houses destroyed during a typhoon need repair or rebuilt.
2. Fallen trees are removed and people who evacuated will return to
their homes to clean the debris.
