I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of the formation of typhoons
and their movement within the PAR.
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to demonstrate precautionary measures before,
during, and after a typhoon, including following advisories, storm signals,
and calls for evacuation given by government agencies in charge and
participate in activities that lessen the risks brought by typhoons.
Learners will be able to:

3. practice the precautionary measures to be followed before, during, and

IV. PROCEDURES Materials


A. ELICIT Strategy: TYPHOON CLAP
The teacher demonstrates how to do the typhoon clap.
Then tells that the clap can be intensified with 4 Students
signals. So, from signal 1 to signal 4, the students must
do the typhoon clap with increasing intensity.

B. ENGAGE Strategy: VIDEO PRESENTATION


The teacher shows a video presentation of Project YouTube video
DINA (Disaster Information for Nationwide Awareness)
about Typhoon Preparedness

C. EXPLORE Strategy: SKIT


Each group will perform a skit about the safety Props
precautions before, during and after a typhoon.

D. EXPLAIN Strategy: DISCUSSION


1. What happens when we fail to prepare before the
disaster occurs? PowerPoint
2. What are the weather conditions for every presentation
Philippine Public Storm Warning Signals?
3. What does red, orange and yellow rainfall and flood
warnings mean?

E. ELABORATE Strategy: DISASTER EMERGENCY BAG


The students are asked to prepare an emergency bag
by group which includes all the things they can use Emergency bag
during natural disasters. They will present this to the
class and explain the use of each thing.

F. EVALUATE Strategy: ENUMERATION


List down 5 precautionary measures before a typhoon.
5 precautionary measures during a typhoon and 5 Notebook and
precautionary measures after a typhoon. pen

G. EXTEND Strategy: ASSIGNMENT


1. What diseases can we get from flooding?
2. If you are to present a solution for the perennial Notebook and
problem of flooding in your area, what would your pen, internet
solution be?

V. REFLECTION
Being prepared before a natural disaster is the key for survival. Therefore,
the knowledge gained by the students is very much important to be ready
for this kind of situation.
