Grade 12
Asynchronous Activity for 02/22/2022
“A well-written business plan is one that contains all information necessary for the financing
source to make a decision even without talking to the entrepreneur”—Anonymous
Each learner are tasked to list down 10 business ideas and have an informal screening
using your personal criteria such as personal interests, experiences in relation to the
proposed project, and the amount of money you are willing to invest. After which,
continue the screening process until you are rank down to 3 (the best 3 for you). List
down the best 3 options and state the reason why you think it is feasible, make sure to
make your reasoning technical and objective.
B. Group Activity
Present your top 3 ideas to your group. Take note that it is important that you should
open your mind to all the opportunities that you see so that you will be able to explore
all possibilities. The method used in this process is Brainstorming. Start your
brainstorming with the question, what problem are we encountering right now? What
products or services does the majority needs or will solve this problem?
∙ All ideas should be considered regardless of how silly they are. If you do this, you may
generate at least 50 ideas in 30 minutes.
∙ Just like what you did in your individual activity, identify what products or services
interest you the most. At this stage of informal screening, you should be able to
come up with 10 ideas.
∙ Continue the screening process until you are down to 3 (the best 3, that is). ∙
This time you will choose the best ideas based on the following criteria: a.
Marketability of the product
b. Availability of raw materials
c. Availability of technology for making the product
d. Availability of skilled workers
e. Investment requirement
f. Perceived profitability
g. Government priority or support
h. Environmental considerations
∙ To facilitate the selection of top 3 ideas, you can prepare a table and give points to
each criterion – with 10 pts as the highest and 1 as the lowest. The point system is
based on the general perception of the situation by the person or group who is
involved in choosing the priority project.
The table below is just an example, you may also add more criteria or make a criteria
that is most suited and common to the goods and services that will be screened.

After you have narrowed down the business ideas, discuss the business that ranked
most and meet with your group. Check if everyone or majority will agree if they think
that it is feasible and if not, proceed with rank 2 and so on….
After this process, the group should decide what will be the business or enterprise
you wish to operate.
This activity should be turned in individually. Why? Because each one will be graded
individually on Activity A. and as a group on Activity B. So grades may not be the
same with your classmates.
