SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN in Grammar for English 8

I. Objectives

At the end of the 20-minute period, the student should be able to:

● Analyze the noun used in sentence


● Classify noun according to its type
● Respond actively to different activities
● Compose effective sentences using different types of noun

II. Content
Topic: Four Basic Types of Noun

● Box
● Papers
● Marker
● Envelope

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. The teacher will ask someone to lead the prayer
2. The teacher will tell the class to pick up the pieces of trash around them
before taking their seat
3. The teacher will ask the monitor for the absentees as part of
attendance-checking.
B. Motivation
1. The teacher will ask the student about their last lesson
2. The teacher will provide fun classroom games which the students will answer
3. The teacher will ask the students about their opinion after the game
4. She will then proceed to the explaining the lesson and how the game
connected to that.
C. Discussion and Analysis
1. The teacher will start an introduction about nouns
2. She will then explain how to compose effective sentences using different
types of noun
3. Ask a if the students understand the lesson
4. The teacher will provide more information about the discussion and how it
works
D. Application
1. The teacher will organize the class into groups
2. Each group contains 2-3 person
3. Each group will be picking words and put it in the box
4. Each box has different types of noun

E. Generalization
1. To generalize the lesson, the teacher will ask the question, “Did you
understand the lesson? Can you differentiate the difference types of noun?”
IV. Evaluation
The students shall answer on the quiz provided by the teacher.
Directions: Read the sentences carefully. Write the noun used in each sentence
and determine if it is a proper noun, common noun, abstract noun, concrete noun, or
collective noun.
Example:
1. Sabrina enjoys dancing. Answer: Proper noun - Sabrina

1. Water is our universal need.


2. To visit Manila is one of my plans.
3. Wounds take time to heal.
4. I am planning to go out of the country.
5. I knew Steve since then.
6.The jury were giving comments regarding the performance.
7. I prepared coffee for them.
8.Truth will set you free.
9. We will have our dinner at the restaurant.
10. The bundle of crackers was sold.

V. Assignment
Answer the following questions:
Have an advance reading about types of sentences according to structure in your
English Proficiency book, and be ready for a recitation tomorrow.
