Welcome to English Grade 2 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on
Reading the Alphabets in English and Associating to Phonemes!

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by


educators from public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in
helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while
overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.

What is It

The English alphabet has 26 letters, made up


of vowels and consonants.
There are five vowel letters (Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu)
There are twenty-one consonant letters
( Bb, Cc, Dd, Ff, Gg, Hh, Jj, Kk, Ll,
Mm, Nn, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt, Vv, Ww,
Xx, Yy, Zz )
Each letter has its own sound. Mastering the letter
sounds is very important, for you to be able to read
with fluency.
