2-3 Flare and Neutrals in 4th Gear
A 2-3 flare or falling out of gear in 4th gear can be cause by a worn direct drum. Always inspect the
drum carefully for ring wear. Also, use high quality sealing rings. To diagnose this problem connect
a pressure gauge to the servo release pressure tap behind the MLPS. In 3rd gear the pressure
should be between 60-110psi depending on throttle angle. If the pressure drops off
suspect a worn drum.
