Good morning class, How are you? Are you ready to lesson for our lesson for the day?

 What have you notice with the following pictures?

 What are the following state of matter?
 could you tell me how the particles of matter are arranged in the following
objects?
Classify objects and materials as solid, liquid, and gas based on some observable characteristics.
(Grade3)
B. Instructional Procedure
1. Engagement
A. Motivation
 Arrange the pieces of the puzzle to identify the picture

What kind of dessert is this?

In One (1)minute can you give me 10 ingredients to make a halo-halo?

Do you know what kind of drink is this?

 What have you notice with both of the following pictures?
 Can you analyze what makes halo-halo differ from chocolate drink?
 Why does the ingredients in halo-halo did not mixed evenly compare to chocolate drink?
 Does the characteristics of the ingredients of Halo-halo and Chocolate drink has great factors
in these mixtures?

B. Presentation of the topic

 Today we are going to describe the appearance of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous
mixtures.
2. Exploration
A. Group Activity
B. Grouping of pupils
C. Setting the norms/Standards of the activity
D. Activity Proper: “ Delineating mixtures”
E. Problem: How does Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Mixture differ from one another
F. Homogeneous

Heterogenous

3. Explanation
1. Ask each group to present the results of their activity and answer the guide
questions
2. Ask what is the difference between Homogeneous and Heterogeneous mixtures base
on the activity.
4. Elaboration
Mixtures- are combinations of two or more substances that can be homogeneous or
heterogeneous.
Heterogeneous mixtures are not uniform in proportion where combined substances are not evenly
spread or mixed
Suspension- is heterogeneous mixture of two or more substances where the solute particles don't
dissolve and remain suspended throughout the solution.
e.g Flour in Water
Homogeneous mixtures appear uniform all throughout because they have the same proportion.
Solution – are mixture that are evenly mixed
Solute – are substance that can be dissolved into solution by a solvent, can be solid, liquid or gas.
Solvent – is a solution that is present in the greatest amount.
Soluble- are objects that dissolve in water
Insoluble – are objects that do not dissolve in water.
5 types of Solution
1. Solid to Solid
2. Liquid to Liquid
3. Gas in Liquid
4. Solid to Solid
5. Gas in Gas
Let the students watch a video clip of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Mixtures.(comprehensive
discussion by the teacher)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW1Vn6cbTRE
