Subjunctive mood (Thức giả định)

 Chỉ mong muốn của một người muốn người khác làm gì đó nhưng không có
thật.
 Những câu không có thật trong Tiếng Anh có 2 xu hướng động từ:
 V(lùi thì)
 V(không chia)
 3 dấu hiệu nhận biết:
 V(sub)
 Adj(sub)
 N(sub)
 Example: “advise” là V có dấu hiệu thức giả định
 N: advice
 Adj: advised/ advisable

I. Dấu hiệu Subjunctive mood thông qua động từ:

 Examples:
 The university requires that all its students take this course.

 NOTE:
Khi S2 thành sb (mất “that”)
chuyển về dạng “to V”

 nói rõ người được đề nghị là ai.

 Students suggested to Mrs. Smith that she (should) give a little homework.

Khi các Vsub không còn sb:

 S1 + V1 + V-ing

 He suggested going out on Sunday.

 He recommended reading the book before seeing the movie.

Vsub-ed = Adj  Important, vital, crucial
 Mandatory, obligatory
 Advised, suggested  bắt buộc
 Recommended  Urgent: cấp bách
 Imperative = vital + urgent
 Desirable, advisable (được khuyến
khích)

 Examples:
 It was proposed that the president be elected for a period of two years.
 It is necessary that he find the books.
 It is necessary for him to find the books.
 It is important that he (should) not work hard.
