Activity 1: Empathy Building Through Art
Assessment Questions:
1) How did creating art help you connect with your emotions?
2) What challenges did you face in expressing a particular emotion through art?
3) How can art be used as a tool for emotional self-awareness and management?
Materials: None
Instructions:
1) Sit comfortably and focus on your breath for one minute.
2) Notice how your body feels and any emotions that arise.
3) Reflect on the experience and share with a partner if comfortable.
Rubric
- Ability to maintain focus on breath - 10 pts.
- Awareness of body sensations and emotions - 10 pts.
- Participation in reflection and sharing - 10 pts.
Assessment Questions:
1) How did focusing on your breath make you feel?
2) What emotions did you notice during the mindful breathing exercise?
3) How can mindful breathing help in managing strong emotions?
Randomly ask students to describe a recent emotional challenge they faced and let them
analyze the strategies used to handle the situation.
