LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to look at the pictures and circle the words to demonstrate understanding

1. Stick the flashcards around the room. Say food words at random, e.g. Sandwiches.
I. PRE-LESSON
2. Pupils point to the correct flashcard(s).
1. Activity 1:
 Present and teach have got and haven’t got using the flashcards.
2. Activity 2:
 Read the speech bubbles aloud with the pupils. Then give them time to look at the
pictures and match. Pupils check in pairs. Check with the class.
3. Activity 3:
 Play the first sentence. Hold up the flashcards of sandwiches and apple. Pupils point and
repeat. Play the second sentence. Hold out your empty hands. Pupils repeat.
II. LESSON
4. Activity 3:
DEVELOPMENT
 Distribute a set of food pictures to each pupil. Pupils each choose their lunch and stick the
pictures on their trays. Demonstrate the activity first. Pupils do a mingling activity, but
they don’t look at each other’s books. They go around the room, taking turns to say what
they have got to find a friend with the same lunch.
5. Activity 4:
 Distribute worksheets.
 Exercise 1: Listen and write the letters A–F on the rats.
 Exercise 2: Pupils look at the pictures and circle the words.
1. Make sentences using the flashcards. Some are true and some are false.
III. POST LESSON e.g. I’ve got cake, cheese sandwiches and apples. I haven’t got an apple and bananas.
2. Pupils write Yes or No in their exercise books.
