What We Will Learn:

This week we will begin the second unit of our Language Arts curriculum. Our
unit’s Essential Question is “How do we learn about people?” Our phonics skill
will be short “e”.

We will continue work with addition word problems, focusing on now on

creating equal number sentences. In Writer’s Workshop, we will continue to
advance our understanding of story elements, working on writing “Small
Moment” stories that are about one event, rather than about an entire day.

Homework:
Students will come home with a book that is Picture Day
at their reading level. Their homework is to This Wednesday, October
read the book, ideally more than once. The 10th is Picture Day. Please
