Philippine Fiction

*Juan Sumulong Memorial Schools System Inc. – SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Filipinos love dramatic stories.
We can easily relate to the characters in the story,
easily putting ourselves in the character’s shoes.
Some examples:
-The optimistic little girl who is tormented by evil relatives;
-The poor rich girl who has everything but can never be as
optimistic as the poor protagonist.
-The antagonist who has a vendetta against everyone but gets
the wittiest lines in the TV show.

But, in reality…
no matter how we can relate to the story in the TV
show, fact remains that these are all works of
fiction, which means that they are just products of
the human imagination, and not true.
Fiction may sometimes coincide with what’s
happening in real life, but they are just
circumstantial.
