Combined Stress Judgement
Compression & Bending Stress σc/fc + σb/fb≦1

Tension & Bending σt/ft + σb/fb ≦1

Compression, Bending & Shear Stress {(σx )2 + (σy)2 - σx σy +3τ2} ≦ft2

σb: Bending stress

σt: Tension stress
σc: Compression stress

σx, σy : Main stress

τ :Shear stress

Vertical Load:WLy
Lateral Load:WLx, WLz

Stress Evaluation within Seismic

Load

Adjust Vertical Load(WLy)

Short Term No and/or
Stress Lateral Load(WLx, WLz)
Evaluation

Yes

Vertical Load:WLy
Lateral Load:WLx, WLz
To be allowable load.
Design of Piping Support (4)
General Rule for Allowable Load of Calculation
STD Support

Safty factor,1.25(80%) is considered.

Load imposing on the support is assumed,

it works on the one point even several loads work on the support.

Friction load (μ=0.3) is considered as lateral load.

Theoretical throat of fillet weld is 0.7 time of welding size.

Seismic load is given as 0.39 for lateral factor and 0.195 for vertical
factor.
