• Start motion

• Increase/ decrease the speed of

Types of forces

 Frictional Force

 The force which resists the motion of

an object on a surface.
 Friction is produced when two
surfaces rubs against each other.
 Friction generates heat.
 Force of friction always acts in a
direction opposite to that of the
applied force.

• Smooth surface offers less
friction and takes more time to
slow down an object moving on
a smooth surface.
• Rough surface offers more
friction.
• If there is no friction, anything
that starts moving will never
stop.
• If there is too much friction,
nothing will move.
